21. April 2011

Saku Brewery has announced that its Head Brewmaster Enn Kärblane is leaving and the current head of pasteurization and process department Marika Tungel, who also celebrates this year her 22 years of working at Saku on various positions will take his place.

According to Veli Pekka Tennilä, the CEO of Saku Brewery, the management values the contribution of Enn Kärblane to the company as well as the development of the whole Estonian beer market very highly. „ With Enn’s participation, great things have been achieved on the local beer market. Estonia has nothing to be ashamed of when compared to big beer countries. We have world-class products and Estonia is more and more recognized as a beer country with traditions. I am convinced that Marika Tungel, who has been working at Saku Brewery for already 22 years, can maintain and develop our beer brewing traditions,“ said Tennilä.

Saku Brewery’s Head Brewmaster Marika Tungel is confident before the new challenge. „A long working experience at Saku and education at one of the most recognized brew master schools in Europe, The Scandinavian School of Brewing, is a strong background even for accepting the post of head brewmaster with so much responsibilty. A high quality of Saku beers will be ensured and developments will be continued by me at the same level as they were done by my good colleague Enn.“

Enn Kärblane remembers his 20 years at Saku as a very exciting period that offered a lot of opportunities for learning and discovering. „Saku has gone through huge changes. The experimental factory has become a modern production company, where besides beers also ciders, long drinks, table water and many other products are made. The product portfolio of Saku beers has expanded significantly offering beer lovers a wide choice,“ said Enn Kärblane. „Together with nice colleagues at Saku we have made beer in Estonia a respected and valued beverage that is drank even in the most prestigious places.“

„We want to thank Enn Kärblane for all his brilliant moments and wish him all the best on behalf of everyone at Saku Brewery.“ said Tennilä.
