The best print advertisement of 2010 is the Saku Rock "Metalli ka!"

A panel of judges consisting of experts and advertising directors of newspaper, which are members of the Estonian Newspaper Association, named Saku Rock’s „Metalli ka!“ the best newspaper advertisement of the year.

Saku Rock’s advertisement was published in newspapers in the beginning of last year and spread over two pages. The advertising agency was Der Tank and media agency OMD Estonia.

The goal of „The best advertisement of the year“ prize is to acknowledge the creative agency, the client, the media agency or creator of the advertisement (if it wasn’t made by a creative agency). The advertisement can be published either in the main paper, in one of its extras, glued on a page and so on. The basis for evaluating work was an effective design and message and suitability of the idea for print. Also adaptations of foreign advertisements were allowed to enter the competition. There were no limits to the size of the advertisement or special solutions.

The winning advertisement will be printed in all newspapers that are members of the Estonian Newspaper Association. Saku Brewery, Tank and OMD will get a yearly subscription of a newspaper of their choice and a prize made by the glass artist Ivo Lill.

The panel of judges chose among 13 advertisements. The panel consisted of Marika Jahilo, Advertising Director at Postimees, Tiina Hiiob, Lecturer and ERASMUS Coordinator at Tallinn University‘s Institute of Communication, Joel Volkov, Head of Advertising Agency Tank, Arno Pae Head of Strategy at the Media Agency OMD, Olav Osoliv, an advertisement specialist and Tiit Lillipuu, Marketing Director at Info-Auto.

The Estonian Newspaper Association will continue the tradition of choosing the best newspaper advertisement also in 2011.
